Responsible Business

Our Message on Sustainability

Michael Lo Sordo’s romantic lens extends beyond our designs, to an ethos of sustainable production and customer experience. We aim to foster a meaningful relationship with the world at large, knowing the planet and its people are an asset to the future. Our determination to create a meaningful experience for everyone and everything his business touches has been the pillar of our brand and decisions.

One way of doing this is by providing timeless pieces that extend beyond the seasonal rotation.

Michael Lo Sordo continues to work closely with local and overseas manufacturers that harbour our ethos; to provide sustainable and aspirational garments that stand the test of time. Understanding that we are able to influence the way the world will look like for generations to come, we are encouraged by the part that we will continue to play.

Our Materiality

The silk used in Michael Lo Sordo products is sourced using regenerative agricultural principles, as part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and guaranteeing safe working practices and conditions.

All our wool used is Australian Merino Wool, which is natural, renewable raw and 100% biodegradable. We ensure to only work with suppliers who maintain the Responsible Wool Standards (RWS) by monitoring the health, lifestyle, and grazing methods of the sheep, to upkeep animal welfare.

Crystals are a running motif in our designs. As such, it is important to us that all crystals used are sustainable sourced, with our suppliers filtering and reusing 70% of water used in the production process to reduce its environmental footprint.

Acknowledgment Of Country

Michael Lo Sordo wishes to respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, recognising their continuing connection and contribution of Country.
